Square Enix Claims that the Switch is “Attractive” To Develop For

The Nintendo Switch sure is attractive!

Well, some good news for those of us that like Square Enix games. Looks like the CEO of the company thinks that the Switch is an important console to develop for. He went so far to say that it is “attractive” even.

Square Enix CEO on the Switch

MCV, a United Kingdom trade publication, recently got to interview the Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda. They talked quite a bit about the Nintendo Switch. Here’s what he had to say.

The Switch is a very attractive and important platform for us. As a games company, having that breadth in our portfolio is very important, with the Switch being such a unique piece of hardware. . .

When we started work on Project Setsuna, the Switch wasn’t even out yet, there was no information about it. We really set out to make this style of game and to make it on [a] home console. But we didn’t really have any particular ideas about which console we were going to go for in the planning stage.

I mean, they’ve got a lot already released and coming to the Switch, with I Am Setsuna, Spelunker Party, Dragon Quest Builders, and Project Octopath Traveler. They’re showing some great support for the system.

Hopefully, however, they’ll consider bringing Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts to the Switch in the near future. I know I’d appreciate that.

Anyway, what do you think about this news? Do you agree with Matsuda? Let us know in the comments!

I'm the head honcho here. I love Nintendo, and I love writing about it all. Ask me sometime about why I believe Waluigi is a ghost.
