The last shipments of the NES Classic Edition will be sent out to retailers by the end of this month. If you want one, you better head to your retailer of choice to get one reserved.
Nintendo on the Discontinuation of the NES Classic Edition
In a statement made to IGN, Nintendo had the following to say about the NES Classic Edition:
Throughout April, NOA territories will receive the last shipments of Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition systems for this year. We encourage anyone interested in obtaining this system to check with retail outlets regarding availability. We understand that it has been difficult for many consumers to find a system, and for that we apologize. We have paid close attention to consumer feedback, and we greatly appreciate the incredible level of consumer interest and support for this product.

So there you have it, the final shipments will be coming this month. They “apologize” for making it difficult, yet their final shipment is coming this month? Strange, but such is Nintendo.
