Nintendo and the Pokémon Company announced today that Pokkén Tournament will be coming to WiiU Spring of 2016 worldwide. What was at first an arcade game only playable in Japan, now makes it’s way to the home console as a WiiU exclusive.

In 2010, Nintendo released the newest game in Tetsuya Takahashi’s accalimed Xeno series, Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii in Japan; that following year it was released in Europe. Despite receiving outstanding reviews in both Japan and Europe, Nintendo of America refused to release it for their region. In 2012, after continuing requests from fans, Nintendo finally released the game that many believed to be the Wii’s last great masterpiece; however, copies of the game were very limited. Because of that, many Nintendo fans missed out on playing it. Three years after the release of Xenoblade, Nintendo ported the game to their New 3DS under the title of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, giving Nintendo fans everywhere a chance to play their unique masterpiece.
